Claire Beausein is an Australian artist specialising in handmade paper artworks in both traditional and contemporary styles. Her landscapes are a re-interpretation of the Australian environment. These images show the series called ‘Gilgai ‘ and the Mandorla Art Award winner “Chalice’.
I've worked with Claire on several of her shows and it has been a marvel to see here work evolve over time.
Claire has had over twenty solo exhibitions both in Australia and overseas, has won numerous awards and has been selected for significant National exhibitions, including: The Mandorla Award and the Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize. Her work is also held in important collections in both Australia and overseas.
These shots were taken in her studio in rural Victoria. The size of the works meant that I needed to fix the camera to the roof truss. Correct exposure and colour balance were a key requirement. Shot on Nikon full frame and Fuji Medium format. All post done in Capture One, ACR and Photoshop.
