Claire Beausein
Claire Beausein is an Australian artist specialising in handmade paper artworks in both traditional and contemporary styles. Her landscapes are a re-interpretation of the Australian environment. This particular series called ‘Gilgai ‘was shown in Perth Australia in 2021. It re-imagines the Gigai region in central Western Australia.
I've worked with Claire on several of her shows and it has been a marvel to see here work evolve over time.
Claire has had over twenty solo exhibitions both in Australia and overseas, has won numerous awards and has been selected for significant National exhibitions, including: The Mandorla Award and the Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize. Her work is also held in important collections in both Australia and overseas.
These particular shots were taken in her studio in rural Victoria. The size of the work meant that I had to fix the camera to the roof truss. Correct exposure and colour balance were a key requirement. Shot on the Nikon D850 with the Nikkor 85mm tilt shift f2.8. All post done in Capture One, ACR and Photoshop.
