Snapping to the Pause
Jan and I applied for an exhibition space on the assumption that we would be denied. Because of the pandemic the art world is backed up with artists with work to show and gallery slots are at a premium. We applied for a september slot at the city library in Flinders Lane thinking that would be heaps of time on the remote possibility that we were granted a spot. Then they called us back and said we can have it if we could pull it off in 4 weeks! Of course we said yes and have been scrambling ever since. More drama to come!
SNAPPING TO THE PAUSE is a slice of digital projects undertaken during the Covid induced “Great Pause”. For much of this time Jan and I communicated only via an online photo sharing app. But this platform somehow heightened the need for real human contact and to make images and thoughts real. This show is the result of our isolated digital experience being transformed into the physical.
